Switzer Falls/Bear Canyon Hike – 01/23/2016

Met with the Hiking for Health and Happiness -3H- group at McDonald’s before starting the hike at 6am. Dolores Grant finally got back to join us after vacation in her hometown in Ireland.

A relatively easy hike with little elevation but lots of crossing streams and rocks. There are some waterholes but too cold to swim. There was also some foul smell along the way.

Lots of greenery and came across blackberry plants but no fruit yet. There were some hard areas to cross but luckily the rocks weren’t slippery. We took photos at the base of the upper falls.

Mike Torres livened up the mood with music, Ricardo and Maglory started to dance and everyone followed. The video shows it all how crazy we were.

Later on we head to Bear Canyon picnic area to eat lunch. Both Ricardos started the fire pit.

We played who can hit the can from afar with a stone. Only 2 people succeeded. After a few minutes, we head back to the parking lot and said our goodbyes. The hike was about 10.94 miles in 6 and a half hours. Thanks to Ricardo Cruz and Maglory Maza for creating this event and to the group’s photos. It was a fun hike for all of us.
